De LED-Wiz (tm) is een volledig functionele LED-verlichting en logische uitvoercontroller die tot 500 mA per output kan leveren bij 5 V DC. Er zijn programmeertools beschikbaar voor integratie in uw aangepaste projecten.

Resident control, animatie en toetsenbord LED-emulatiesoftware is momenteel in openbare bèta en kan worden gedownload.

Kenmerken:

  • USB-poortcommunicatie en voeding.
  • Maximaal 16 LED-Wiz-kaarten per systeem. (Apparaat-ID-nummers moeten uniek zijn voor elke LED-Wiz- of LED-Wiz + GP-eenheid op een systeem)
  • 32 uniek bestuurbare uitgangen en tot ongeveer 500 Hi-Output LED's per kaart (15+ per uitgang, externe stroombron vereist voor dit type operatie. Korte bedrijfscycli en niet tegelijkertijd actief. Zie documentatie voor meer details.)
  • 48 niveaus van PWM-intensiteit. Met RGB-leds (gemeenschappelijke anode) zijn theoretisch 110.592 kleuren mogelijk.
  • Elke individuele uitgang kan worden ingesteld op een van de volgende hardwaremodi. Deze modi worden ingesteld door de computer en daarna verwerkt de hardware ze zelf.
  • Intensiteit (via PWM)
  • Zaagtand (geleidelijk omhoog en geleidelijk omlaag)
  • SquareWave (knippert)
  • SawDown (vol aan, geleidelijk naar beneden)
  • SawUp (geleidelijk omhoog, vol aan)
  • Hardware-pulsfrequenties worden geregeld door een wereldwijde snelheidsinstelling met 7 niveaus.

Vooraf geïnstalleerde driver-heatsinks (inbegrepen): Dit wordt ten zeerste aanbevolen voor toepassingen die veel vermogen vragen van de chips. (Belangrijke opmerking: probeer dit niet thuis!) We hebben een enkele driverchip getest met een van deze heatsinks geïnstalleerd, door er 80 van onze 5-LED Nova-Matrix LINX2-modules op aan te sluiten, wat in totaal 400 LED's is. De LED-Wiz was volledig ingeschakeld (geen PWM) en bleef 8 uur staan. Aan het einde van de test voelde de heatsink heet aan, maar de driverchip was nog steeds volledig functioneel. Dit was puur een test van thermische overdracht en hechting van de heatsinks, evenals de duurzaamheid van de driver onder zeer extreme omstandigheden. Zelfs als de heatsinks zijn geïnstalleerd, mag de LED-Wiz nooit aan deze uitersten worden blootgesteld. We zijn er echter van overtuigd dat toepassingen die de drivers anders zouden kunnen beschadigen door overmatige hitte, enorm zullen profiteren van deze optie.

Features:

  • USB port communication and power.
  • Up to 16 LED-Wiz boards per system. (Device ID numbers must be unique for each LED-Wiz or LED-Wiz+GP unit on a system)
  • 32 uniquely controllable outputs and up to about 500 Hi-Output LEDs per board (15+ per output, external power source required for this type of operation. Short duty cycles and not simultaneously active. See documentation for more details.)
  • 48 levels of PWM intensityUsing RGB LEDs (common anode), theoretically 110,592 colors are possible.
  • Each individual output can be set to one of the following hardware modes. These modes are set by the computer, and after that the hardware handles them by itself.
    • Intensity
    • Sawtooth (gradual up and gradual down)
    • SquareWave (blink)
    • SawDown (full on, gradual down)
    • SawUp (gradual up, full on)
  • Hardware pulse rates are controlled by a 7-level global speed setting.

Includes mounting hardware, printed instruction sheet and 6' USB cable.
 
Pre-Installed Driver Heatsinks (INLCUDED):  This is highly recommended for applications which might push the limits of the driver chips power handling capabilities.  (Important note: Don't try this at home!) We torture-tested a single driver chip with one of these heatsinks installed, by connecting 80 of our 5-LED Nova-Matrix LINX2 modules to it, which is a total of 400 LEDs. The LED-Wiz was set to full on (no PWM) and left for 8 hours.  At the end of the test, the heatsink was hot to the touch, but the driver chip was still fully functional. This was purely a test of thermal transfer and adhesion of the heatsinks, as well as the durability of the driver under very extreme duress. Even with the heatsinks installed, the LED-Wiz must never be subjected to these extremes.  We are, however, confident that applications which might otherwise damage the drivers through excessive heat, will benefit greatly from this option.

Note: The beta "resident" software currently supports device #1 only. Additional devices are currently offered for use with 3rd party or user created applications (see below.)

The free ActiveX control from IDVT Inc. now supports up to 16 LED-Wiz devices and is available upon request. Can be used in any language that supports ActiveX controls. 3rd party DLL's are also available by request.
