The Alphacool HF Quick Disconnect TPV Connectors are part of the Alphacool Enterprise Solutions water cooling product range and was specially developed for the Alphacool TPV hoses. Special attention has been paid to high tensile strength and safety as this is paramount to enterprise users.
Alphacool offers special water cooling products for servers and workstations in the B2B sector. In this area, great importance is attached to the strength and security of liquid cooling. Three factors were therefore particularly important for the quick-release coupling: a secure closure, high tensile strength of the assembled hoses and a particularly low weight.
The particularly high tensile strength is achieved by a claw washer located in the connection area of the hose. When the hose is mounted, this claw washer grips and holds the hose. This makes it impossible to remove the hose under normal circumstances.
Screw cap instead of click cap?
The usual quick-release fasteners work with a click closure. The Alphacool HF quick-release closure uses a solution in which the two components are screwed together. This prevents the quick release from being opened by accident or by shocks or movements.
Nylon as material?
Instead of the usual brass fittings, the Enterprise Solutions range has been specifically designed with nylon in mind. In water-cooled servers and workstations, all components must be kept easily interchangeable, so all components are usually fitted with quick-release fasteners. This means that a graphics card render server requires many quick-release fasteners. Since the structure can be very tight and the fittings can often touch the components it is important that the quick-release fasteners must not cause short circuits if they do come into contact with something sensitive. Therefore, Alphacool uses nylon as material. It is extremely light, very resistant and extremely durable.
Flow and seal
Due to an especially large opening of 9 mm throughout both the locking mechanism and the neck of the fitting the water can flow through the quick-release fastener without great resistance. Particularly in the Enterprise Solution area, where many quick-release closures are usually used within a system, too much resistance would be a massive problem for pumps. Too high a resistance would result in the need for more pumps, more pressure and therefore more application problems. Of course, this is not desired. A double seal is also used for this quick-release closure to ensure maximum tightness and safety.
